Shifu Yan Lei invites you to attend his live Zoom masterclass. He will teach the 8 Treasures Form (Ba Duan Jin) and show you how to use this form to balance your Yin and Yang, stabilise your energy and increase your stamina. You will feel a noticeable difference when you train in physical exercise such as running or Kung Fu.
The focus will be on wellness and fitness through Longevity Qigong so that what you learn is suitable for health seekers and martial artists. If you’re a personal trainer or a yoga teacher, you can use these teachings as another strand to help your clients gain total mind and body wellness.
If you know this Qigong form, these masterclasses will deepen your understanding and you will learn how to pass these valuable teachings to other students. If you’re just beginning and you don’t want to teach, you can use this program to learn and you don’t need to attend the last week where Shifu Yan Lei focuses solely on how to teach.
The Shaolin Temple is a temple of Zen therefore the classes are not theoretical. Theory doesn’t transform. You’ll be taught through body language to gain personal experience and muscle memory. This is not about reading a menu, it’s about tasting the food.
If you’ve ever been to China, you’ll see elderly people in the park in the early morning practising some of these movements. And if you go to the Shaolin Temple in China, you’ll see young disciples practising the same movements. The elderly people do the movements slower and practice more Qigong whereas the young disciples will be fast and do less Qigong. It’s about adapting these time-tested movements so that they are suitable for all ages.

What you need:
- Commitment
- A space the size of a yoga mat
- Instant Health massage brush
When:
There are 4 sessions a week for 4 weeks. You only need to attend the 4th week if you want to teach. Each session is from Monday - Thursday at 6pm UK time, and lasts for 45- 60 minutes. Each session will be recorded and available for 28 days if you’re not able to attend the live class. If you want to teach, it's recommended that you learn the Qigong before you begin the program. You can't become a teacher from a 4-week program. You need to have a deep understanding of the teachings.

If you’d like to teach, there will be a separate online exam which includes a fitness and stamina test as well as a Qigong. If you don’t pass it the first time, there will be an opportunity to retake the exam. Once you’ve passed, you’ll receive a certificate and your details will be on Shifu’s website. The price for the exam is £180.00. It’s not included in this training program.
